SUNDAY BOY the Dog needs a home

Sunday
Boy is a handsome white miniature Lab mix male that was taken from a small kill shelter in Tennessee and facing his last days if not helped out by a rescue.  He was at the shelter for months on end and getting more desperate and anxious.  Now this three year old boy who weighs 33 pounds and has a happy smile, an adorable crooked pair of ears and he is getting a second chance at finding the right and forever home that will love him.  Because of his many months incarcerated in a small dark cell at the shelter and never let outside, he still has some anxiety and paces and seems anguish at time.   Daily he is slowly coming to understand that he is safe and no longer in danger at that horrible place.

Sunday

 Boy

loves to play with toys, especially the ones he can chew on. He also loves to chase balls or any toy you throw at him.

He can get a little aggressive with other male dogs but not with every one of them. He
is fine in the foster home with the two males there so we feel that since he is new out of the shelter then he is still finding his confidence and secure feeling in life.
He
seems to be housebroken and knows how to go outside and do the job for potty training purposes.

Sunday

thinks he is a lap dog as he always wants to sit next to you, on top of you, or under you, whatever he can get.
He is not good on a leash and the foster mom is working with him on that.   He does know sit and stay but you have to keep him focused during training sessions.   He is easily distracted.
He is not aggressive with humans when it comes to food or toys but he can be with dogs. He does need an outlet to let his energy out as he can get bored but he will be okay if you give him something to chew on.

He loves treats and just loves human contact, if he could be next to you all the time he would.

Sunday

will
let
you
 cut his nails and
 is
a very good sport about it.

This is important, if he is in the car, he needs to have a harness and that harness be attached to something else or he will try to get on top of you while driving or continue to choke himself if he is just wearing a collar. He rarely barks or cries.
He working through the little anxiety that he has right now but slowly is leaving that behind and he is a smart and curious soul that knows that he has been given a second change and is
so affectionate and so excited to be out and explore everything.
